POSITION REQUIREMENTS

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Join us as we are seeking an IONM Practitioner. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget generation and management,staffing management, hiring, training, overseeing the call schedule and meeting regularly with the Medical Director and surgeons to provide the service level needed. Other duties include supporting the report and charge generation for each case with the IONM reading physician. Successful candidate will be able to skillfully operate and teach junior technologists on the operation of IONM equipment including averaging, recording and stimulation equipment. As well as the ability to manage and direct the O.R. technologists as they cover 10-30 cases per day.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred.
5 years experience in the field of intraoperative monitoring as a lead or practitioner.

Certified in Neurophysiological Monitoring (CNIM)
Must complete American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring (ASNM) certification within one year of employment or when the first oral exam is given after written is passed.

Must be able to apply electrodes and record high quality SSEPUE, SSEPLE, cranial nerve monitoring, EEG, TcMep (upper and lower ext.).

He/she reports directly to the Chief Mid-level Provider, Neuroscience or in absence, Operations Manager, Neuroscience for all non-clinical administrative responsibilities.

 

The successful Physician Assistant candidate requires completion of a CAAHEP-approved physician assistant program, NCCPA certification or eligibility through Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine licensure.  Experience in Neurosurgery, Critical Care or Neuroscience is preferred.

 

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners and must be eligible for or certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Manages and assists Pediatric Cardiovascular &amp; Thoracic Surgery patients, both inpatient and outpatient. Participates in peri-operative care. Provides patient education and counseling to patients/parents/guardians regarding the cardiac program, diagnostic procedures and surgeries. Completes pre-operative admission orders. Demonstrates exemplary judgment.  Demonstrates interpersonal, communication and team-based skills. Demonstrates effectiveness and accuracy in the completion of responsibilities.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner required. MSN Graduate of a state approved Nurse Practitioner program required, OR Completion of CAAHEP-approved program for physician assistants and NCCPA certification, or eligibility, through Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine licensure required. Certification in the state of Pennsylvania required. Minimum two years Pediatric Cardiology experience required. PICU/Pediatric Cardiac Care Unit experience preferred.
